We propose a new interpretation of Grojnowski's equivariant elliptic cohomology in terms of functions on a siutable derived stack of quasi-constant maps from an elliptic curve to a quotient stack. Such maps give rise to a notion of elliptic Hochschild homology, that recovers Grojnowski's equivariant elliptic cohomology after a suitable Tate construction.
